If the tree is still standing, check with your council first. Councils such as Brisbane protect some trees, including their root zone, and you may need a permit to remove one. Penalties apply without one.

What the quote should say
Ask how deep they will grind, whether surface roots are included, and whether they take away the chips or leave them. Check the business's ABN on ABN Lookup, and ask for proof of public liability insurance.
